Opening Christmas presents is one of the most important moment of Christmas time, but some parent may experience disappointment when their child doesn't react how they expect when opening the presents. Things you thought they’d love they have no interest in and they end up playing with box it came in for hours. This can happen with typical children as much as children with additional needs.
Children with developmental delays sometimes don't know how to express the excitement or don't feel excited about the same things (because maybe they don't know what to do with a wrapped present).
