What is a good environment?
An environment relates to any area where your child spends a significant amount of time.
This could be rooms in the home, at school or at nursery.
At home, it can be helpful to have your home set up in a way that will help you best teach and nurture your child.
For a young child, there are a few things that are important to set up their environment well:
1. De-clutter. It is important that your home environment is safe. They will try to explore anything they find and climb on anything they can so make sure there is as little chance as possible of the child being physically harmed as they play.
2. Organise their toys. When toys are scattered all over the house, children can become overstimulated, or simply just have access to everything they want. This can prevent them from engaging properly with each toy and just switching from one to another listlessly, or can be akin to a child having access to everything they want in a candy store.
