Happy New Year!
2014 marks 6 years of Louise and I working together to create the company you see before you. Thank you all for your support, trust, hard work and determination.
Q: “what is the best bit of your job?”
My favorite part of this job is when clients have learned their skills, are able to implement in any situation and do not need me anymore! This week alone I have had two situations with clients where I thought, “I am on my way out. This kid has got the skills” and I have never felt so proud. It is a tremendous honor to be a part of a family’s life and their journey to overcome challenges and there is no greater reward than knowing it is time to let them continue to flourish independently.
Q: “what do you like least about your work?”
One challenge I face in my work is that Behaviour Analysis is a relatively unknown science to the general population. There is nothing that upsets me more than people criticising or disregarding it, simply because they are not yet informed. In 2014 I will continue to break down those barriers and show people that Behaviour Analysis can be implemented easily and successfully to their everyday lives.
The most successful people are the people with the best supports. No matter your situation, struggling after learning your child has a diagnosis or trying to navigate a new career in the field of Behaviour Analysis, set up your support team and let them help you. Our challenges in life are less when we have people to lean on.
