When to use each prompt?
For children who do not have imitative skills, that is they cannot yet learn through watching others, it is better to teach through physical prompts.
For children who do have imitative skills, they is they can learn via demonstration, it is possible to just use imitation, textual and verbal prompts.
Gestural prompts would be a useful additional support when helping a child to complete an activity to point to what they need to do next.
Textual prompts can be useful when children have a sequence of actions to follow such as how to have a conversation, or the rules of game playing.
