The DSM is a standardised manual professionals use to determine if your child’s behaviours fit the criteria for a developmental disability. You can gain access to the DSM criteria online here: http://www.dsm5.org/Pages/Default.aspx
If you are familiar with this manual already, then you will be aware of the criteria that are used to diagnose a child with a developmental disability. However, in May 2013, a new version of the DSM 5 will be released which will reveal some important changes.
This month we will provide information on 4 key developmental disorder categories and discuss what this may mean for your family.
Please keep in mind that NETwork Interventions is not a diagnosis specific company, so whether you are just beginning the process of getting a diagnosis, if this process is taking a long time, or if you have a diagnosis, we are here to help.
