Over the past five years since NETwork’s inception, we have worked with schools in five different ways.
-Taken on by the Local Education Authority to work for one client across school and home
-Funded by the Local Education Authority, but appointed by school or home
-Taken on by a family privately to work across home and school
-Recruited by school to work with a single child
-Recruited by school to work with a whole class, train a team of staff or just one staff member
When a child or teen is in school, we love to work with both home and school where possible.
We are firm believers that the most successful intervention is when home and school, or home and college are fully on board and some or all of the interventions can be implemented across all environments.
We are often called in because a family has been to tribunal, but we love to work with families and schools prior to it needing to get to this stage. We believe that energies are best spent building strong relationships & bridges, rather than rebuilding bridges. It is often said that it is school vs. home or local education authority vs home, but we have had great success in building teams in the best interests of the child as opposed to one ‘side’. We completely realise that funds are an important issue and we are always mindful that resources are limited. Even when provided by the Local Education Authority, they are not a bottomless barrel. We will work with you from the outset to a projected time line and budget so as your programme or training schedule is sustainable.
