During this festive month of December, NETwork is exploring and discussing challenging behaviour.
What is challenging behaviour? At some point in time every parent has experienced episodes of challenging behaviour from their children. When this cycle of behaviour is constantly repeated or becomes the norm is when intervention on a professional level is required to address the issues. Challenging behaviour is defined as behaviour of such intensity, frequency or duration that the physical or emotional safety of the person or others is placed in serious jeopardy. It is also defined as behaviour that is likely to seriously limit or deny access to the use of ordinary community facilities.
